EventVue

So we’ve been heads down for a couple of months since the end of last year working on a big project at EventVue.  At the end of 2009, we learned from many of our events that one feature of our product, Chatter, was really really popular at our conferences.  In fact, it was so popular that many attendees thought that Chatter (in reality a separate site at the time) was EventVue.  This was a total surprise to us, but was certainly not something that we could ignore.

Today, we’re excited to announce that we’ve made the bold decision to follow the excitement of our users and make EventVue 100% about Chatter.  EventVue is now simply the best way to have realtime conversations about shared events.

While we’re just getting started and will continue to add more features soon, we’re pretty excited about what we’re launching with today:

• Fastest, freshest, realtime tweets about events.  When someone tweets about an event, we’ll have it first.  (We’ve even seen that tweets arrive in EventVue faster than on Twitter Search!)
• Threaded comments.  EventVue supports threaded comments for each post about the event so that you can have deeper, more engaging, and more interesting conversations with people experiencing the events with you.
• Pictures of who’s participating.  We’ve learned that one of the most powerful parts of participating in communities and conversations online is simply seeing the faces of the other people in the conversation with you.

Today we’re launching with a few events that the team at EventVue is most excited about.  If you’d like, you can come join the conversation with us about the Relaunch of EventVue, GlueCon, Eventprofs, or our local Boulder/Denver New Tech Meetup.  Of course, if there’s an event we don’t yet have that you’d like to talk about, go ahead and add it yourself!

We’re excited today about what this offers for people attending events, watching events, or generally interested in events.  Of course, we’re not stopping here — we’ll have new stuff specifically for event organizers to announce soon!

Today marks the beginning of a major shift for EventVue - we’ve seen a taste of how real-time conversations online can revolutionize an event experience and we’re now executing on the next step of our vision of connecting people at events.  We want EventVue to be the best way to experience and discuss shared events in realtime.
